Each day, hundreds of people are hospitalized, and even lost from infectious diseases such as tetanus, meningitis, and influenza. Many of these tragedies could be prevented, through proper immunization, and education. The month of August is National Immunization Awareness Month. The National Foundation for Infectious Disease helps others through awareness of not only immunization against the most deadly diseases, but also, by educating the public and healthcare professionals about the causes, treatment and prevention of infectious diseases.
